Te Po ki te Ao Marama Tihei Mauriora
Registration number CC52326Sector: Social servicesHamilton
Purpose: TPAM’s neighbourhood-based programme for reoffenders having significant barriers to accommodation, employment, education and family connections. The focus of the programme involving correctional activity, is continuing contact with community based support, who provide guidance to service users as they seek stability developing future positive plans to ameliorate problems which mitigate against their re-entry into the community.. The pilot programme produced encouraging results. Contacts are operational putting into place throughout the Waikato, encompassing a wide diversity of settings and providers including, marae-based organisations. This provides a unique opportunity to assess the transferability of the programme model, including the ways in which it needs to be adapted to fit diverse settings, the conditions needed for successful adaptation, and the extent to which the programme may be able to meet the needs of similar service users in other areas and /or environmental cultures.
